Dr. de Simone has provided general optometry as well as customized vision therapy programs to children and adults for twenty-five years. She is also a Foothills resident who raised three children in Ahwatukee schools. As the owner of Eye Priority, Dr. de Simone is “passionate about vision” and provides personalized care to a wide range of patients. Her specialities include neuro-optometric enhancement and rehab for adults with acquired vision problems, sport enhancement vision, concussions, brain injuries, as well as treating children with learning problems, crossed eye, lazy eye, or reading comprehension difficulties.
Dr. de Simone is a Fellow of the College of Optometrists in Vision Development. She holds a BA degree from Penn State University and a Doctor of Optometry degree from Pennsylvania College of Optometry. In 1993, Dr. de Simone was awarded the Skeffington Award for Excellence in Vision Service. She is a member of the Arizona Optometric Association, the Neuro-Optometric Rehabilitation Association, the College of Optometrists in Vision Development and the Ahwatukee Foothills Chamber of Commerce.

Dr. Sawitzke is a Doctor of Optometry whose professional experience includes more than ten years of clinical practice in ophthalmology and optometry. Originally from Iowa, she attended the University of Arizona and Pacific University College of Optometry. Dr. Sawitzke enjoys spending time with her two children, who are involved in sports and music, and is an active volunteer at their elementary school. The family watches the Wildcats in all sports and loves to attend football, basketball, and softball games. Dr. Sawitzke is a member of the Central Arizona Optometric Society.
Our Vision Therapists
Devon has been working at Eye Priority for over 5 years. She initially helped with administrative tasks but has recently made the transition to Vision Therapy and Syntonics Technician. Devon is currently a senior at ASU, working towards a degree in human nutrition. She has attended courses in Syntonics and is passionate about expanding her knowledge and experience in Vision Therapy. Mercedes has been a certified optician for over 11 years and is working towards additional certification from the American Board of Opticians. She's comfortable working in pre-screening, reception, back office, contact lens training, and, of course, making sure patients look good in their glasses and helping them see their best. In her spare time you'll find Mercedes volunteering as treasurer of her daughter's softball league, the PTA's yearbook chairwoman, and organizing Girl Scout events.
Tori has a Bachelor of Science in Fashion Merchandising with a minor in Marketing from Kent State University. She moonlights as a stylist and is Operations Lead for Phoenix Fashion Week. She has over 5 years experience in the fashion industry and is great at finding the perfect frame to fit a patient's personal style. Her hobbies include sewing, roller blading, and making people smile!
Amber's grandfather is an optometrist and she spent her childhood running around her office. When she was old enough, she ended up running his practice for 12 years. Since then, she's had the privilege of running large optometry offices as well as labs before finding her home at Eye Priority. She's loves spending time with her ten year old son and coaching his sports teams. She's a gifted hostess and loves throwing dinner parties for her friends.
Ivey has been working in optics for over a year and loves interacting with patients. She is pursuing a degree in English Literature. Originally from Iowa, she loves to read, travel, and make art. She enjoys hanging out at home with her loved ones and catching up on her favorite tv shows and movies. Fun fact: Ivey is a five time spelling bee champion!
Adrienne has an extensive background in customer service and loves helping people. She enjoys hiking with her husband and checking out all the live music she can.
Andrea helps keeps our Vision Therapy department running smoothly. No stranger to taming chaos, Andrea's job prior to working at Eye Priority was as a preschool teacher where she was in charge of a classroom filled with 26 four and five year olds. Originally from San Diego, she moved to Phoenix with her husband in 2015. She loves sports, her dog, coffee, and exploring nature. The number one item on her bucket list right now is to travel to Greece.
